Felon disappears after court-approved travel - judge issues arrest warrant

A federal judge has ordered the arrest of convicted felon Michael Marasigan, after he failed to return to Guam, and cut off all communication with his probation officer.
Marasigan was convicted in may on dozens of federal felony charges tied to an illegal gambling operation that funneled tens of millions of dollars through his business. He faced more than 100 years in prison and was due to be sentenced in august.
But just weeks after his conviction, the court allowed him to travel to Manila for medical reasons, a trip the prosecution did not oppose. He was supposed to return to Guam by June 20.
Instead, he vanished.
His probation officer says calls and messages went unanswered. When he did reply, he claimed he missed his flight, but never showed up for his court-mandated check-in.
Now, with a warrant out for his arrest, U.S. authorities may seek extradition from the Philippines to bring him back.
