B-2 bombers deployed to Guam amid global tensions

Several U.S. Air Force B-2 stealth bombers took off overnight from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri and are now headed to Guam, according to defense officials.
While the Pentagon has not disclosed the mission’s objective, the movement comes as President Trump weighs possible U.S. involvement in Israel’s strikes against Iran. Officials would not confirm if this deployment is directly connected to the growing Middle East conflict.
The B-2 bombers are capable of carrying the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator—America’s largest bunker-busting bomb designed to strike deeply buried targets, like Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility.
This deployment underscores Guam’s critical importance as a forward-operating base in the Pacific, giving U.S. forces global reach, especially during times of escalating international conflict.
Sources say no further orders have been given to move the bombers beyond Guam, though military analysts are watching for any potential movement to Diego Garcia—another U.S. base strategically located for Middle East operations.
