This weekend’s George Washington High School graduation at the UOG Calvo Fieldhouse was marked by a moment that touched every heart in the room.

Cynthia Pangelinan Tenorio Terlaje, 90 years young and World War II survivor, received her honorary diploma—fulfilling a lifelong dream that was put on hold decades ago.

Though the hardships of her youth kept her from completing high school, the desire never faded. In April, her family celebrated her 90th birthday and her incredible journey, her love, and legacy.

On Saturday, that journey came full circle as Principal Dexter Fullo and GDOE Superintendent Dr. Erik Swanson recognized her strength and resilience, with an honorary diploma from the GWHS Class of 2025.

A beautiful reminder that it’s never too late to chase your dreams—and that some victories are worth the wait.

Congratulations, Cynthia Pangelinan Tenorio Terlaje and to the GWHS Class of 2025!
