CNMI Congresswoman King-Hinds introduces bill to boost veterans healthcare in territories

Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds is pushing for stronger veterans healthcare support in the territories through new federal legislation.
On Wednesday, King-Hinds introduced H.R. 3400, the Territorial Response and Access to Veterans’ Essential Lifecare Act, also known as the TRAVEL Act of 2025.
The bill seeks to improve medical access for veterans in the CNMI and other underserved areas by sending traveling va physicians into the communities that need them most.
These physicians would receive a travel bonus and could be assigned for up to one year in the territories.
The legislation has earned support from the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee chair and is co-sponsored by representatives James Moylan of Guam and Radewagen of American Samoa.
