The Guam Department of Agriculture has partially lifted its poultry import ban, now allowing day-old chicks from Hawaii under strict biosecurity rules.

The chicks must come from certified disease-free hatcheries, with all shipments inspected upon arrival.

The ban on live adult birds from Hawaii and all live poultry from the mainland U.S. still stands due to the continued risk of avian influenza.

Officials say the move balances safety with support for Guam's growing poultry industry.
