Guam celebrates a major milestone as its seaport welcomes a record number of cruise ship visits this year.

The MS Asuka II arrived at the Port Authority of Guam Monday morning, marking the 10th passenger vessel to visit the island in 2024. The ship brought 793 passengers and 493 crew members and will depart later in the evening.

Port General Manager Rory J. Respicio praised the achievement, highlighting the arrival of over 18,000 passengers and crew members this year.

Respicio called it a testament to Guam's rising reputation as a top destination in the Pacific.

Respicio also recognized the vision of Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Lieutenant Governor Josh Tenorio, who has positioned the Port as a driver of economic growth for the island and the region.

With hope for even more cruise ship arrivals in the future, the Port plans to continue supporting Guam's tourism and economic development goals.
