Guam Memorial Hospital receives $2.7M in federal funding

Through a defense infrastructure program, the Guam Memorial Hospital will be receiving $2.7 million in federal funding to carry out upgrades throughout the facility.
Granted by the Department of Defense, the grant will be used to upgrade the hospital's HVAC system with energy-efficient technologies, reducing operational costs, and supporting the health and readiness of military personnel who rely on the hospital for medical services.
The grant is part of a broader $100 million in DCIP awards granted to states, territories, and communities nationwide, designed to enhance infrastructure that supports military value, installation resiliency, and family quality of life.
With the Guam Memorial Hospital being a vital healthcare facility for both civilian and military populations, this upgrade will have far-reaching positive impacts on Guam's healthcare system.
The upgraded HVAC system at Guam Memorial Hospital will incorporate advanced energy-efficient technologies, reducing energy consumption and operational costs.
By improving the hospital's infrastructure, the project will directly support the health and operational readiness of military personnel stationed on Guam, further enhancing Guam's critical role in supporting the U.S. military mission in the Pacific.
