A terrifying robbery at a Maite game room was caught on security cameras, showing the moment a thief armed with a knife forced his way into the cashier room inside the Liberty Game Room in broad daylight on Monday.

Police responded to the incident around 2 p.m.

An elderly employee is seen pushed to the ground as the robber took cash from the drawers and stomped on a cellphone, causing it to erupt in smoke.

KUAM spoke with the owner’s son, only going by the name Mike.

“He started taking money. I saw the video of when it happened with the knife. The worker was too scared to defend herself basically,” Mike said.

He adds the robber stole an undisclosed amount of money and stabbed the cellphone. He made a note that the employee received minor injuries including bruises from the fall.

As for the suspect, employees recognize him as a customer who frequents the gameroom and authorities are now on the hunt.

The male is described to be approximately 5’6” to 5'8” in height between the weight of 160 to 180 pounds.

Guam Police Department Spokesperson Officer Berlyn Savella said officers have yet to identify him.

“Our officers are reaching out to the community doing some footwork, leg work and possibly sourcing with people they may know who may know this suspect who had fled,” Savella said.

She added it’s too soon to tell if the crime is drug related.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Guam police.
