Tiyan High School wins three career academy MODEL designations

Tiyan High School announced its triumphant recognition as a MODEL career academy school by the esteemed National Career Academy Coalition.
Garnering not just one but an impressive three career academies “MODEL” designations, Tiyan has cemented its status as a beacon of innovation and educational prowess.
The NCAC process involved a comprehensive review of the three career academies, including interviews with students, teachers, and community partners, as well as an assessment of the academic performance and the success of graduates.
This recognition demonstrates Tiyan's dedication to fostering career development, academic achievement, and holistic student success.
Being designated as a MODEL career academy school by the NCAC affirms Tiyan's outstanding implementation of career academies that incorporate rigorous academics with real-world experiences.
These academies provide students with the opportunity to explore their career interests, gain practical skills, and develop a strong foundation for future success.
This career-focused approach to education has proven to be highly effective in preparing students for college and career success.
Tiyan High School is committed to educational excellence across various disciplines and career pathways.
The three career academies include Business, Arts, & Information Technology (BAIT Academy), Health and Human Services (HHS Academy), and Transportation, Logistics, & Construction (TLC Academy).
It is a significant accomplishment for Tiyan to have three of its academies—Business, Arts & Information Technology; Health and Human Services; and Transportation, Logistics & Construction—recognized as MODEL Career Academy Schools.
“Once students utilize the programs in the academies, the change and growth is immediate. I was truly able to use the career academy structure to the fullest during my senior year at Tiyan High School,” said senior Keira Perez.
“Career academies have given me more insight into the professional development of my interests and provided opportunities to explore different career paths without changing my academic life,” said fellow senior Xavier Baza
“Students feel a lot more prepared for life after high school and get more exposure to industries and careers that are actively in demand,” said senior Elijah Mesubed.
Tiyan’s principal, Sophia SN Duenas also commented on their recognition.
