Montvel-Cohen's resentencing hearing delayed

Disgraced Guam radio executive Evan Montvel-Cohen will have to wait three months to learn his new fate in the District Court of Guam.
Montvel-Cohen, who was convicted in a scam involving more than a million dollars is expected to be resentenced this week after winning his fight before the U.S. Court of Appeals.
Newly appointed defense attorney Cythia Ecube asked the court for the delay so that she could speak with her client and review the case.
Montvel-Cohen's previous attorney withdrew due to a conflict.
He is currently serving a nearly seven-year prison sentence after being convicted of bank fraud and use of means of identification in furtherance of fraud.
The feds learned Montvel-Cohen conned a man looking for work on Guam, and used someone else’s identity to rent a home in Tamuning and never paid rent.
He is now scheduled back in court on Aug. 30.
