Nicholas Moore granted another mistrial in drive-by shooting case

A second Superior Court of Guam judge granted a mistrial in a high profile drive-by shooting case that unfolded in Agana Heights.
Defendant Nicholas Wayne Moore appeared before judge Vernon Perez in Superior Court Tuesday afternoon.
Perez granted a defense motion to declare a mistrial.
Defense argued Moore’s six amendment rights to have a speedy and public trial was violated.
Moore stands accused in an Oct. 5, 2020 shooting that sent one man to the hospital.
This is the second time a mistrial was declared in the case.
Moore still faces separate charges in connection to the death of Michael Castro, suspected to have occurred two weeks after the shooting.
He also was facing criminal sexual conduct charges in another case.
Moore is scheduled to appear back in court on April 16.
