Guam police are searching for the driver of a brown colored sedan that hit a man along East Sunset Street in Tiyan late Saturday.

The suspect fled from the scene.

Investigators learned the unidentified pedestrian was in the middle of the road when the car hit him.

Authorities are also searching for the victim’s family.

“Our thoughts and condolences go out to family and friends of the victim, and we urge the community to prioritize safety and responsible driving at all times,” said GPD spokesperson officer Berlyn Savella.

The crash happened after 10 pm near the DHL building in Tiyan.

Officers with the Guam International Airport Authority and GPD’s Highway Patrol were forced to temporarily shut down the roadway overnight.
