One of the men who admitted to his part in a shooting in Dededo will serve seven years in the Department of Corrections prison.

Justin Michael Duenas, also known as Buddha, was sentenced before Judge Vernon Perez in the Superior Court of Guam Tuesday afternoon.

Duenas pleaded guilty to aggravated assault as a second-degree felony, along with a special allegation of possession or use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony

Co-defendant Jensen Belga Develles has since admitted guilt and was sentenced.

On Aug. 18, 2021, Duenas and Develles went to a residence at Trankilo Court in Dededo after they saw the victim’s car parked out front.

The victim told police the pair entered the home armed with handguns.

A fight broke out before Duenas shot the victim in the chest.

Duenas told police that his dispute with the victim started over $700 that he owed from a game of darts.
