Off-duty cop charged in beach attack released from prison

The Guam Police Department officer arrested in connection to an attack reported at a beach in Tumon was freed from prison, as he waits to have his day in court.
Police Officer Peter Leon Guerrero was released on a $5,000 bond following his magistrate hearing held late Tuesday.
Prosecutors contend he faces up to three years in prison if convicted.
Leon Guerrero was off-duty when he allegedly attacked another man at a Tumon beach on July 30.
That man has been identified as Fredrico Santiago who authorities allege got into a fight with the officer's relative, Jesse Leon Guerrero.
Both Santiago and Jesse Leon Guerrero were arrested as well.
Peter Leon Guerrero faces charges of aggravated assault and remains on paid leave as the department conducts its own investigation into the alleged attack.
