There's more to love in the village of Mangilao. A groundbreaking ceremony was hosted this week for McDonald's of Mangilao. The new restaurant will be located next to the Mobil gas station along Route 10.

Joe Ayuyu, Jr., vice president of McDonald's in Guam and Saipan, told KUAM News, "We’ve always looked at this area and this community and the people have been asking for it. We see the growth potential here. Mangilao looks like a growing community. With our partners here, the mayors, the schools, the growing residents, and hopefully with the hospital, it seems like the ideal location to open up."

He added, "We are just so happy to get it started. it’s been a long time coming and we are just so happy. the sooner we can open and serve the community, the better off everyone will be. in light of the typhoon, being here will be solid for us because as you know during crisis mode, McDonald's is always there to serve the community so us being here puts us closer to the people and more convenient for them."

The new location is set to open by February 2024.
