American Red Cross volunteers are distributing a limited amount of cleaning supplies, coolers, tarps, and flashlights across the island.

The items are being offered to support those who have lost their homes in Typhoon Mawar.

Dededo Mayor Melissa Savares was on sight as supplies were being distributed at Astumbo Elementary School in Dededo Saturday.

ARC clarified that the reports of these supplies being given at the mayors' offices in Sinajana, Hagat, and Talofo'fo' was incurrate. 

According to the Joint Information Center, residents are advised to refrain from going to the village Mayor’s Office for these supplies and stay up to date with the latest information for other opportunities, once available.

Additionally, residents are being asked to document the damage to their property and report to their respective village mayor. Currently, the priority is to help those whose homes were completely destroyed by the storm, then officials will get to those with major damage, followed by minor damage, and to other affected. 

Red Cross assures the community they will get supplies to all in need.
