A Guam-Japan joint venture company has been awarded a nearly $107 million contract for the military buildup. Core Tech-HDCC-Kajima will build an embarkation facility for U.S. Marines at Naval Base Guam.

The project is funded by the Government of Japan as part of the international agreement with the United States.

Naval Facilities Guam says, “This contract is the fourth of 12 Defense Policy Review Initiative military construction projects planned to be awarded by NAVFAC Pacific in Fiscal Year 2023 and is a significant step towards providing full capability for the Marine Corps on Guam.”

Expected completion is October 2026.
