KUAM kicks off St. Baldrick’s Great-Shave-A-Thon to help conquer kids’ cancer

Our morning in the newsroom was anything but typical. We at the KUAM CareForce are all about helping kids, and with the Great Shave-A-Thon finally back, Nick Delgado and I kicked off our island’s quest to conquer kids’ cancer by going ‘dome and getting our heads shaved live on The HotSpot this morning.
But it takes a lot of moving parts to complete this mission, so we were in good hands as students in Janice Aguon’s cosmetology program at GCC brought their clippers…and put them to good use.
You too can help us support these amazing little Guamanians by joining us for the St. Baldrick’s shaving event on Saturday at the GPO in Tamuning from 10-1, or online at stbaldricks.org/events/Guam. You can show your support for these kids by getting your head shaved, or most importantly, making a donation to help them. Our local beneficiary is the Edward M. Calvo Cancer Foundation to aid island families, with special thanks to our friends at the Insurance Association of Guam.
We hope to see you - because bald is beautiful! But on behalf of the kids - THANK YOU.
