The 37th Guam Legislature's first regular session took up just two days.

Senators on Tuesday unanimously passed three bills--all of them primarily sponsored by Speaker Therese Terlaje.

One bill addresses what some believe is a looming opioid threat by spelling out how antagonist medication such as naloxone can be acquired and dispensed to prevent fatal overdoses.

Another measure would require GovGuam agencies to get legislative authorization for leases or sub-leases of federal property for terms longer than five years. This would include the planned lease of Eagle's Field in Mangilao for the governor's medical campus.

The third bill passed is also related to that project. It subjects the 21st-century Medical Health Center Committee to the open government law and allows for public access to all plans and actions regarding the project.

The measures now go to the governor for her consideration.
