KUAM News brought you the story this week of a father waiting for months for police to take action after his son with autism was allegedly assaulted by a school aide.

A magistrate's complaint shows Jonathan Rabauliman, 33, was arrested in the incident and charged with Child Abuse and Assault, both as misdemeanors.

It took place at George Washington High School on April 21, 2022. Court documents state one witness alleged Rabauliman used the palm of his right hand and "smacked" the student's left cheek and that it was "really loud." Another witness corroborated the account.

Rabauliman, court documents state, told police he slapped the victim out of reflex. He also said he was the child's one-to-one aide.

On Tuesday, the child's father, Nicolas Ballesteros, told KUAM News he continued to follow up on the incident with police, however, was never able to get a response.
