Man charged with aggravated arson, terrorizing following house fire

A man is arrested in connection to a fire reported in Yona over the weekend.

Thirty-year-old Anthony Joseph Cruz is charged with aggravated arson and terrorizing.

Court documents state a witness told police Cruz got upset with him after telling him he did not have a cigarette.

That’s when Cruz allegedly threatened to burn down the house before the residence later caught fire.

It took Guam Fire Department firefighters 45 minutes to put it out. 

At the time of the fire, Cruz was on pretrial release for a separate arrest criminal case.
