GRMC continuing activities for its 7th anniversary

It was a feat in itself to stand up a private hospital for the island back in 2015. Now, the Guam Regional Medical City is celebrating seven years of providing state-of-the-art medical services to Guam with health care specialists.
For hospital President and CEO Alan Funtanilla, it's been a journey.
"First of all, we thank our patients, our families, our island community and the people of Guam in general for allowing us the opportunity to serve them," he said. "As you know, seven years we opened our doors with the intent of being the premier health care institution organization for Guam and the Micronesian region and I think we’ve lived up to that by providing much-needed services for our community," he said.
GRMC kicked off its anniversary activities earlier this month with a “Wave with GRMC” at the Micronesian Mall intersection. But that wasn’t all, they also had catered breakfast for all GRMC employees. But what other GRMC-related events can residents partake in?

"We’ll have, on the 21st, we’ll be participating in the Liberation Day Parade," Chief HR Officer Charlotte Huntsman said. "As well as, on the 25th of July, we are celebrating with our providers, and community providers and then on the 30th, we have our health fair."
Vice President of Corporate Affairs Eric Plinske detailed more on the health fair.
"We’re going to do a community health fair, we do one usually every year. I think COVID restricted us last year in being able to pull one off, but Micronesia Mall center court, on Saturday the 30th is going to be 11 am till 3 pm where we’ll be doing free testing like glucose, things like that and sharing information about our services," he said. "A chance for the community to meet our doctors and do little giveaways and competitions to make things fun."
The GRMC board also gave a rundown of what they’ll be doing for this year’s liberation day parade. Vice President of Support Services Bernie Lobaton.
"We’re actually going to be side-by-side partnership with the the Mayor of Dededo, Mayor (Melissa) Savares and then from there we are going to have like mini floats," she said. "We’re going to have four trucks with all the GRMC letters and all the staff is going to participate and walk with banners and we’re going to give a lot of giveaways."
GRMC is the island's second civilian hospital and is located on Route 3 in Dededo.
