The Marianas History Conference is underway - virtually. Organizers Dr. Carlos Madrid and Lavonne Guerrero Meno say hundreds will attend with some key presentations being made on a variety of topics to include CHamoru place names, climate change impacts on whales' migratory patterns through the Marianas and for the first time - the Kumision I fino CHamoru will lead a panel presentation in the native tongue.

"Were going to have an all CHamoru panel and that's going to be led by former senator Hope Cristobal so it's the language commission - they'll have their own panel it'll be all in CHamoru, we'll also have the Guam Preservation Trust - they will have their own panel and its called Ekunggu I Estoriata - listen to our story - that's another interesting panel as well."

This is the fifth Marianas History Conference. This year's theme is "One Archipelago: Many Stories" and it falls on the 500th anniversary of Ferdinand Magellan's Landing on Guam.
