UFC fighter Frank "The Crank" Camacho is running to raise awareness and funds for Guam's homeless. Come Friday, February 12, he's taking off his gloves, lacing up his shoes and hitting the roads for 24 hours.

He explained his inspiration, telling KUAM News, "During the run, you know, I was just seeing people like panhandling and everything and then I was it was actually it was an interview with you guys Mark Apuron he was a homeless veteran and holy moly dude that that that interview just really just really spoke to me."

"My idea of someone being homeless is you know someone all wrinkly and you know maybe like they look like they're you know like drug addictions and it's just it's just the misconceptions of all these different things through my mind and that interview just really opened my mind to do some research," he said.

There are a few ground rules that Frank has set for himself, one of them being that he won't be allowed to buy any food or drinks, and can only receive them upon donation. "Another rule is once I get into like a vehicle I'm automatically disqualified," Camacho explained. "And I can't sleep indoors so if I was to ever sleep or take a nap or rest I have to have to kind of just stay outdoors."

Following Marine Drive, Frank's route will start at Merizo Pier, from there he'll make his way to Ritidian Point.

In-kind goods such as child-care supplies, toiletries, and feminine hygiene products can be donated to the Salvation Army office and monetary donations can be given online at guamtime.net.

100% of the proceeds will go to the Guam Homeless Coalition.
