A proposal is in the works to provide some much-needed relief to the struggling restaurant industry.

The Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association has been working on a plan, confirmed by Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero during her press conference last week, to distribute money for people to use at local dining facilities. GHRA President Mary Rhodes says she's been working with GEDA on the program and will present details to the governor during a meeting next week. They're hoping to roll out one similar to Hawaii's Restaurant card program that was launched last weekend. The state began sending out $500 debit cards to employees who were displaced by the pandemic. The $75-million dollar program is being funded through federal CARES Act money. For details on the Hawaii program, tune in to IN FULL ZOOM later in the show. Also, Mary Rhodes is one of the scheduled guests on tomorrow's THE LINK show.
