Road Safety Reminder for the Week
THE RIGHT OF WAY RULES (Part 4 of 6)
When you enter a street or highway from a driveway, alley or from private property, you must not interfere with the safe operation of cars approaching from either direction. You must wait to enter the highway until it is safe to do so (Motor Vehicle Code of Guam Section 3327). When it can be done safely, you may cross a solid white or yellow line in the middle of the roadway into an alley or driveway. You may lawfully make a left turn across such a solid line for either of these maneuvers after you have made certain that no approaching vehicle is an immediate hazard.
Guam Construction Update
Motorists are advised to drive cautiously through all construction zones, observe all posted speed limit and construction signs, and carefully heed to flaggers. Alternative routes and/or adjusting drive times when feasible are encouraged.
Route 3 Widening
Construction activities are ongoing along Route 3 from just north of Route 28. Motorists are advised of the traffic shift on Route 3 between Chalan Castro and Potts Junction from the existing roadway to the new construction. Motorists are advised to expect lane closures and flagger-controlled traffic.
Route 1 and Route 8 Resurfacing
From Monday 06/10/19 through Sunday 06/16/19, the DPW contractor, Hawaiian Rock Products, will continue working on the new traffic signal at the Route 8/Canada-Toto Loop Road intersection between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Motorists are advised to expect lane closures, lane shifts, and flagger-controlled traffic in these areas.
