The new Guam Fisherman's Co-Op facility is in need of additional funding to make the project a reality. President Manny Duenas said, "We included in the project a larger wharf because we've seen in the last year or so, our friends and family from Rota coming down to get cargo and we want to provide amenities to support that because we are friendly neighbors and we would like to see their people survive. They come down maybe two or three times a week and they use our fuel pier which causes quite a congestion."
The new project cost is now estimated at about $6 million. He expects once financing is secured, he hopes to break ground between October and December.
