Guam - The National Weather Service is currently tracking a disturbance that is brewing near Chuuk heading towards the Marianas. NWS senior meteorologist Paul Stanko said, "So we are definitely expecting increased rainfall the next few days and the question is going to be how strong are the winds going to be with that disturbance.

"It's really going to start effecting us tomorrow Tuesday and if the European model is right it will be over Wednesday night or Thursday morning whereas the American model keeps effects through Friday."

A Tropical Storm Formation Alert has been issued and Stanko says there is a high chance that it will form within the next 24 hours. At this point the disturbance is about 370 miles to the east-southeast of Guam he says based on current information it should pass north of Guam if that is the case Guam will be on the weaker side of the disturbance. A High Surf Advisory is in effect for Guam.
