Guam - Starting early next year, residents can expect work to the underground pipeline from Tiyan to Andersen Air Force Base.
At a recent Mayors Council of Guam meeting, NAVFAC Marianas PIO Bill Austin provided updates to the village leaders on the upgrades. "This is not part of the buildup. It's a separate project intended to improve the fuel transfer capability obviously it's a backup to the existing pipeline and very important to do so to have that backup," he shared.
The $62 million in upgrades are funded by the Defense Logistic Agency. Austin says this project has been programmed for years but was delayed to funding availability. Construction is expected to run through 2016.
