Guam - A press conference for Smokin' Wheels was held at the racetrack in Yigo this morning. The event kicks off late tomorrow afternoon with practice runs for the All Japan ATV Championship & Monster Energy MX. Action picks up later in the evening with Drag Racing along with a Burnout Competition.

Henry Simpson, Off Road Enduro Competitor, said, "The track is in really good shape for the Off Road Endurance and for the Motocross events. The Drag Race guys have been getting everything ready and it's going to be a great event over there starting Friday so we are really looking forward to a lot of participation and a lot of people coming out to see what a great place the Guam International Raceway is."

Joey Crisostomo added, "The track is ready, it's going to be a fast track and there are going to be some really good drivers that are going to be here this year. John Walker is back and he has been racing in the Baja 1,000 in he states and Baja 500 and he has been doing really well out there. So it's going to be exciting to see him out here. And Hanawa is back also and he's been here and won many times so Henry and I are looking forward to giving them both a run for their money."

DRAG president Ron Taitano said, "Starting tomorrow night we'll open up the drag strip early and we will have our normal grudge nights combined with our qualifiers for Saturday nights championship drag racing. We will also have a burnout contest at about 10:00 pm and the prize money for that will be about $250.00 Saturday night we will be kicking off early as well with our eliminations leading up to our finals. And we will be looking forward to giving out several thousand dollars in prize money. We are expecting several of our faster cars coming out to do some exhibition runs, which are 9 and 10 second cars. We are expecting a larger crowd than we had last year so we are encouraging the fans to come out and it will be a full night of racing action."
