Guam - The tragedy in Tumon, Guam's tourism district. Occurred around 10:30 Tuesday evening. "He came out of the parking lot of globe and he started revving his engine," said a female eyewitness. She said it happened so fast she saw a man, now identified as 21-year-old Chad Ryan Desoto, revved his car engine and then sped on to the sidewalk pummeling over several tourists.

"Two Japanese couples got knocked down. One Japanese guy he died instantly there's a lady with two daughters one was in the bush and they were still breathing and another one was on the floor here body was all covered and everything," the eyewitness said.

Desoto drove about 300 yards and crashed into to the ABC Store just below the Outrigger Resort, got out and started stabbing people. Kevin Quinata just reported for work at the hotel, and said, "I seen the blood there was blood already all over the people so I ran and got some towels and ran back out…by the time I came back out they had already subdued him. And it was ugly."

A total of 14 people were injured. A 28-year-old woman and an 82-year-old woman died from stab wounds. Among the victims an 8-month-old and a three year old toddler. "He will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," said Guam governor Eddie Calvo. He along with the chief of the Guam Police Department Fred Bordallo and the chairman of the Guam Visitors Bureau board of director Mark Baldyga held a press conference offering their condolences and ensuring island residents and tourists that this was an isolated incident.

"This is a tragedy and it has the attention of our administration out deepest condolence to all those affected by t his tragedy," he said. "Please rest assured that Guam is just as safe as it has been it has been really an unfortunate situation single occurrence we really pass along our condolences to the families."

Officials have not released any other details as to what may have led Desoto to go on this rampage that is still under investigation.
