Guam - 14 people were taken to the Guam Memorial Hospital on Tuesday night and a man is in police custody after he allegedly drove onto the sidewalk in Tumon and struck several pedestrians and then stabbed several people inside the ABC Store.

Guam Fire Department Spokesperson Lieutenant Ed Artero says they received the 911 call just after 10pm Tuesday.  Three people were transported to the Guam Memorial Hospital as medics were performing CPR en route.  Their conditions are unknown as they are being treated in the emergency room.

Lt. Artero says a total of 14 people were transported to the hospital.   It's unclear whether their injuries were sustained as a result of being stabbed or from being struck by the car.

A man, whose identity has not been released by police, is in police custody.  It's believed the drove onto the sidewalk in front of the Sandcastle in Tumon hitting several pedestrians and then drove further up to the ABC Store under the Hard Rock Cafe, where he entered the establishment and stabbed multiple people.

Police have blocked off Pale San Vitores Road from the Sandcastle to Santos Hill as they investigate. GPD has confirmed that the driver of a 2007 Toyota Yaris has been taken into custody.
