Guam - As the new chairman of ground transportation, Senator Mike San Nicolas met with the Guam Regional Transit Authority board last week. GRTA interim general manager Rudy Cabana says the freshman senator was eager to hear the agency's concerns moving forward.

Cabana says currently GRTA has 11 buses when it needs 20 to operate at full capacity. "There's challenging not having enough busses to service more of the general public and individuals with disabilities. We would like additional funding but as you know the financial crisis in the government limits the service, we also had to make changes to the route to try and cover certain areas of the island where ridership is needed more," he said.

Cabana says if there were 20 buses, wait time of four or two hours would reduce to 30 minutes.
