DOC educating public school students

Guam - The Department of Corrections is hoping to decrease the number of potential clients by reaching out to the island's high school students. DOC visited Southern High School on Wednesday morning talking to students about crimes on campus, including cyberbullying and most recently, the bomb threat called in on Tuesday, which forced early dismissal.
DOC spokesperson Jeffrey Limo said, "The important message is DOC is not a place to be anything that leads to any crimes that are related outside that they report it and if they're involved is that they'll end up in prison and that's what we don't want; we don't want them to end up in our custody."
Limo adds it's important to educate students, not scare them about harsh life in prison. DOC is also working in conjunction with the Department of Youth Affairs.
