Guam - 68-year-old Joaquin San Nicolas Baza was in court this afternoon facing a maximum of 15 years behind bars for sexually molesting a female minor known to him multiple times since the victim was 5 years old. The sexual assault reportedly began back in 2001.

He was arrested in March 2011 on 25 counts of 1st degree criminal sexual conduct and 20 counts of 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct, but pleaded guilty in October to a single count of 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct as a 1st degree felony. The prosecution is requesting for the maximum sentence arguing the damage to the victim after years of abuse has not reduced.

Baza was in court this afternoon for sentencing but it was continued to December 10 at 3pm before Judge Elizabeth Barrett Anderson.
