Guam - According to the Governor's Office, they have until Saturday to sign the substituted Fiscal Year 2013 budget act that calls for $770.9 million in expenditures. Governor Eddie Calvo says he intended on signing it before the deadline and was waiting on advice from his fiscal team.
He was, however, concerned about several gaps, telling KUAM News, "I think it's important that we realize that there is this gap; we have an accumulative deficit that by the end of the fiscal year will probably be at $100 million, which is a lot better than the $360 million that we started with. But with that in mind, we have to close that gap."
Just before 6pm, Governor Calvo signed the budget.
