Guam - Another island leader has come forward requesting the Guam Education Board and the Guam Federation of Teachers reconvene at the negotiating table for teacher contracts.  Like Governor Eddie Calvo, Senator Aline Yamashita also supports negotiations, especially now that both parties have new leadership in place.

She says DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez and GFT president Tim Fedenko may provide fresh perspective.  She emphasizes that teacher contracts are important to support learning conditions and the best interests of students and teachers.
