Guam - The Attorney General's Office may go back and present its case against firefighter Dean Ray Quinata to the grand jury again. Quinata pleaded not guilty this morning to charges of sexually assaulting a female minor.

The incident allegedly happened at the firefighter's home where a card game was being held last month. Defense Attorney Curtis Van De Veld argues the prosecution failed to present exculpatory evidence to the grand jury when they filed the case.

That evidence, Van De Veld contends, would show that Quinata was playing cards at the time of the alleged rape and was no where near where the alleged incident took place. As we reported a female minor told police that Quinata took her to an area where he fondled and raped her.

The firefighter has been on annual leave from the fire department. He is assigned to the Umatac Fire Station.
