Guam - The judges have voted and for the first time ever the Guam Visitors Bureau and the Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association combined their Golden Latte Awards. GVB deputy general manager Nate Denight says those honored at Friday's ceremony truly go above and beyond to promote island hospitality.

"Tourism is the main driver of our economy it provides 60% of our economy and over 20,000 jobs, so it's very important. And it's very important that we recognize the people that go above and beyond because tourism is a service industry. It's the people that make Guam an attractive and unique destination, so we want to recognize their hard work," he said.

Among the winners were Hotel Nikko Guam assistant general manager Joe Blas, Proa Restaurant, and the Outrigger Guam Resort.
