Guam - Guam Election Commission legal counsel Jeff Cook has started the review of an initiative filed last Friday that seeks to legalize bingo at the Guam Greyhound facility in Tamuning. The Guam Japan Friendship Village, made up of Japanese investors, is behind the initiative.
According to GEC rules and regulations, Cook has 10 days to review the proposal, a maximum of 25 days to prepare a summary of the measure, and another 25 day max to prepare a short title and subject to which the proposal relates.
The proponents would then be required to get a certain amount of signatures from the community and submit those for review in order to make it on to the November general election ballot.
