Guam - Honoring the island's fallen soldiers, the Guam Legislature announces the Medal Artwork competition for I Milåyan i Mås Takhilo' na Sakrifisiu. Speaker Judi Won Pat, Senator Ben Pangelinan and Senator Tina Muna Barnes sponsored the public law that creates the designation. The Medal will be presented to the family members of those from Guam who died while defending our nation during WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, and the War on Terror.

All public and private schools have been notified of the competition, which is open to all school-age children. Entry deadline is 5:00pm, Friday, April 13, 2012. Guam teachers and/or students may drop off their artwork to the Office of the Speaker at the Guam Legislature Building in Hagatna. The winner of the contest announced and the presentation of the medals to the families will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2012 beginning at 10:00am at the Guam Legislature Public Hearing 
Room.
