Guam - A police officer who was arrested for family violence and assault has resigned from the force.  Acting GPD Spokesperson Sergeant Mike Aguon confirms that the chief of police accepted Officer Jesse Gogo's resignation.

An Internal Affairs investigation into Gogo's arrest had not been completed yet.  Gogo's resignation was effective March 7. Sgt. Aguon said because the issue is a personnel matter, details of the investigation could not be released. Gogo was accused of assaulting a woman known to him and threatening her with his duty weapon.

The chief has informed officers that they can seek help to prevent incidents of domestic violence.
