Guam - The Committee on Transportation is holding an informational briefing tonight to find out the progress of the Port Authority of Guam's efforts to modernize its facility. Committee chairperson Senator Tom Ada says tonight's briefing is a follow up to the one held back in January, and tonight he's hoping for new developments from port officials.

He said, "I think they will of course have some updates to provide information that will be important to the community and the committee members. As a result of the meeting that was held in dc between the port and other officials that went to sit down and have a discussion with MARAD regarding he situation at the port."

The meeting starts at 6:30pm at the Legislature's Public Hearing Room. The Committee will also be hosting similar meetings with the Guam Regional Transit Authority tomorrow and with DPW on Thursday to discuss the status of the island's school buses.
