GPD searching for men who raped teen girl

Guam - An investigation continues as police search for the men who abducted and sexually assaulted a female teenager Saturday night. The Guam Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division has now taken the lead on a case that makes every parent shudder and they're hoping the public won't keep silent about what happened
A 15-year-old girl told police she was abducted Saturday evening, with police say the teen was walking on the road between 9 and 10 o'clock when a vehicle pulled up alongside her. "The individuals pulled up in a dark colored sedan and put a cloth over her head and pulled her into the vehicle and took her to a jungle area where they sexually assaulted her," explained GPD spokesman Office A.J. Balajadia. "She reported that about four male individuals that sexually assaulted her."
Balajadia says the men threatened to kill her if she refused to cooperate with their demands.
By the time she made it to police, around 5am Sunday to report the abduction and rape, the teen was completely wet from head to toe, covered in grass and vegetation and mud. "The victim has to be interviewed. She was traumatized and was very shaken up by the ordeal and so the immediate response was to get the initial information and get her taken care of at the Guam Memorial Hospital," Balajadia added. 35
CIS is now tasked to conduct that interview as well as canvass the Mangilao area to see if anyone saw the suspect vehicle and to try and figure out where the sexual assaults took place, as it could provide more clues to help point police in the right direction to catch the perpetrators. "This particular place where she was abducted from and taken to the jungle is not well lit. There are lights coming from the condo area," the spokesman stated. "The public needs to know that we're actively investigating this and hopefully we will bring these individuals to answer for the incident and hold them accountable."
Police are still trying to determine why the girl was walking on the street so late in the evening on Saturday, but they advise residents to be mindful of your surroundings and never walk alone especially in areas that aren't well lit.
"Don't walk alone. Go with others it will make yourself less of a target if somebody is out there looking for somebody to victimize," Balajadia said. "That goes for robbing somebody, as well as what took place Saturday night with this 15-year-old."
According to police, the victim did not know her assailants but she described them as being Chuukese men. Anyone with information is asked to come forward and contact police at 472-8911 or leave an anonymous tip with Guam Crimestoppers by calling 477-HELP (4357).
