Official make final inspection of refund sites
Guam - Early Friday morning, thousands of island residents are expected to lineup to pickup their tax refund checks. Today the Department of Revenue & Taxation made one last inspection of the distribution sites to ensure the layout and setup are properly in place.
Income Tax Branch supervisor Larry Terlaje says they needed to ensure the anticipated influx is going to be managed properly. He told KUAM News, "It was very important that law enforcement was here to give us the assurance that we can have a safe refund distribution. Their input will be vital in maintaining I guess the mood as well as the grievances that may follow with any refund distribution."
Law enforcement discussed concerns of emergency evacuations and safety. GFD medics will be on-site in case anyone needs medical treatment due to waiting inline.
For those island residents with last names beginning with the letter "A" through "F", the Agana Shopping Center will be open beginning at 8am to 5pm; for names beginning with the letter "G" through "O", GPO in Tamuning will be open from 8am to 5pm; while the Micronesia Mall in Dededo will host refunds for those whose last names begin with "P" through "Z" beginning at 9 in the morning.
