Two Guam airmen back from Iraq
by Nick Delgado
Guam – A couple of the Guam National Guard's 254th security squadron members returned home Saturday evening after being deployed to the middle east for the past six months. The airmen were deployed to Iraq in June and are the first of the 18-man security forces team to return to Guam. While in the battlefield, the team conducted air base ground defense missions, and also provided perimeter patrol and security for base entry points. The 254th security forces squadron was officially stood up in 2005, and have been deployed to various locations such as Louisiana in support of hurricane Katrina recovery efforts.
The remaining team members are scheduled to return to Guam in December.
