Guam - On Wednesday, Senator Aline Yamashita introduced Bill 311 which will provide the University of Guam and Guam Community College needed funding for general operations. According to a press release, Vice Speaker B.J. Cruz identified the funding from Medical Loss Ratio Funds otherwise known as the Section 2718 Fund. Bill 311 is a companion to Bill 308 authored by Senator Ben Pangelinan and Speaker Judi Won Pat, which appropriates $1.3 million to UOG. Senator Yamashita pushes Bill 311 in hopes of continuing to keep higher education both a natural and affordable choice for the island's students.
