Guam - A 40-year-old man is dead after a serious motorcycle accident in Yigo this afternoon. Guam memorial hospital nursing supervisor Cely Mangrobang confirms the man was dead on arrival. Guam fire department medics provided CPR, but were not able to revive him. She adds two other men who sustained serious injuries from the motorcycle crash are being examined in the emergency room. GFD spokesperson Joey San Nicolas says the accident happened along route 3 around 2:30pm. Guam police officers are on scene located just after Machanaonao elementary school investigating. Security forces from Andersen Air Force base are also assisting with traffic control. The identities of the victims have not yet been released. 


GPD Statement:

It was reported that some members of the motorcycle group "Trix Seven One" broke off from the memorial 9/11 ride,  about a group of eleven riders headed south on Rt. 9 by Machananao Elementary.

One of the riders on a Yamaha, broke from the group of eleven and continued to ride south on Rt. 9.  He later turned around and headed back towards his pack of riders.

Two riders from the pack on a Kawasaki and a Suzuki headed south on Rt. 9 attempted to pass a vehicle by entering into the north bound lane thus colliding with the Yamaha that was headed towards them.

The operator of the Yamaha was pronounced dead at GMH.  The other two riders are in serious condition. The of the victims are not being released at this time.
