Guam - Guam's top 115-lb. fighter, Ronnie Borja, is scheduled to take on Hawaii's Harris Sarmiento in the main event fight of PXC 26 in the Philippines. Sarmiento is coming off a win over Underworld Extreme's Alex Castro in the last PXC event that was held in the Philippines. Sarmiento is a boxer that has evolved into an all-around fighter that can switch levels and take the fight wherever it goes.
He told KUAM Sports, "Anything can happen in a fight, I don't predict anything. A fight is a fight - you can either get knocked-out or you can submitted. Anything can happen, I don't predict anything. I'm looking forward to standing up and banging with him for all five rounds, and if I can finish it, I'll finish it. When you fight with me, you're going for a war."
Borha has faced some of the toughest fighters here on island and has shown he's got knockout power and submission skills. He is the champion of PXC in the Lightweight Division and has only one loss in his MMA career - due to a doctor's stoppage. Borja has grown into one of the crowd's favorite fighters and steps into the cage for the toughest fight of his career.
"I know he's a pro boxer," said Borja of his opponent. "He's got so many skills and he can deliver on fight night so I'm just training as hard as I can and I'm getting ready for this fight any way I can. I'm doing more sparring, more cardio and my coach is really pushing along with all the guys in the gym, just beating me up and getting me ready.
"I'm going to keep it standing, no doubt - if it does go to the ground I'm going to go for the submission, but I'm going to try and keep it standing, a stady anf fast-paced fight."
