Grace (Selena Gomez), Meg (Leighton Meester) and Emma (Katie Cassidy) have decided to tour Paris. When a chance to impersonate a wealthy celebrity arises, the trio take advantage of the perks associated with the confusion. Soon they find, that their lie has gone too far. Will the three be able to escape from their predicament or face punishment for their actions?
"Monte Carlo" is a very typical romantic comedy about a girl pretending to be somebody else and falling in love when she least expected it. No new ground here. However, performances by the trio of Gomez, Meester and Cassidy are strong enough to make the film enjoyable. Sure the dialogue is lame, but something about the trio's delivery makes the movie very fun.
I hate romantic comedies and "Monte Carlo" is definitely not geared towards my demographic. However, I feel that young teens across the United States will enjoy the subject matter and situations that the trio find themselves in. If you find yourself in that demographic, watch it tonight at Tango Theatres.
